"Teaching is a beautiful way of learning..."
We all complain, we all have issues, problems, difficulties, pain and what not. And respecting our this tendency God has given us an opportunity as COVID, now we can complain anytime for everything and most importantly without feeling bad or guilty about our behavior.
I agree we have to maintain social distancing, we have follow certain norms to be safe. And undoubtedly this is affecting our health on either side. Physically we are comparatively less active, in result there is lethargy, weight gain, and it has a simultaneous effect on mental health as low mood, restlessness, lack of interest etc.
Many of us are experiencing lacuna or ups and downs in our professional life also. Every profession has different struggle.
In my case, even during this time frame we have to continue teaching as it is. So, as a teacher I learned how to use virtual mode for teaching, trust me it was difficult but not impossible. Another struggle that I had to go through was the presence of students in virtual/online class, biggest stone to kick off, as the network is not very much supportive for everyone. So, like so many others, I also chose to prepare videos for the subject.
But there is one thing for sure, this time period is teaching a lot. I mean how to manage things without being present physically. It also is increasing the sense of camera usage, how to set the mobile to get the perfect shot. And this all is happening under the guidance of a teacher named "experience".
This COVID PERIOD made me more confident with camera. As I have mentioned earlier that no. of students are not able to join classes online because the network is not that supportive for everyone. Now I know how to handle and cope with the situation. Of course, preparing videos and sharing with them, right? Now I know how to make my video more effective for students. Only in these tough times I was bound to work on laptop and mobile, initially it was a punishment but see now because it has made me realize that I learned something new, I am enjoying it.
Mark mental health as priority. There is always something to learn from all the situations. Once you decide to accept things as they are, you will realize that how practical it is to nourish your mental health. It does not require any extra effort. The all you need is to respect yourself, your situation and your thought.
Embrace mistakes. Remember today's mistake is tomorrow's lesson. It tells you about your effort, your try and your enthusiasm.
